Whenever you go to a marketing forum, one of the questions you’ll see repeatedly asked by newbies to seasoned marketers is, “What date and time is the best day to launch?”
It’s like there’s some secret formula the marketers want to acquire so that their launch will be a success. And of course, you’ll also see a variety of responses by well-meaning established marketers trying to help.
They might claim that Tuesday at 10 A.M. EST is the absolute best, or that you should always avoid Saturdays by all costs. But is that really true – or just their personal experience?
You can’t put too much faith into these accounts because launch success will vary according to so many factors. Some of it may or may not have to do with the date you select and the time you go live, but it’s certainly not all dependent on those two factors.
There are other things that can affect your success with a launch – and some are way more important than dates and times. For example, your ability to recruit the right joint venture partners and affiliates will have a big impact.
So will your sales copy. Is it well-written and have you worked on ironing out any possible conversion issues? How about the funnels set up? If you have no funnel with upsells and downsells on the backend, then you won’t see the same numbers other formidable gurus see.
Is there any truth to dates and times being significant? Yes. First of all, you never want to set a date that’s too soon – so soon that you aren’t able to complete your project and end up having to push the date or go live without everything in place.

Sometimes the competition can kill you in terms of having affiliates onboard – especially if you’re newer and there’s a competing, proven launch going on simultaneously. So try to launch when you’re not sharing the date with someone who has a major launch going on.
As for times, if you go live at midnight, when many Americans are sleeping, then you probably won’t have a huge launch day like you would if you went live at 8-11 AM EST (anywhere in between) because these are typical launch times when emails get sent out.
